In October 1953, Bill Eaton, a retired Gulf Oil executive and Dartmouth College graduate, decided to move to Hanover, New Hampshire and form a heating oil dealership. He hired Bob Evans as the General Manager, and W.C. Eaton, Inc. began servicing the heating oil needs of customers in the Upper Connecticut River Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont.

In the 1960’s, Bob purchased the company. He continued to grow the heating oil and service business for the next two decades, while adding retail and wholesale gasoline to the company’s product offering. In the early 1980’s, he sold the heating oil business to a competitor and the company focused on growing its wholesale and retail motor fuels division.

Today, Evans Group operates convenience stores in New Hampshire and Vermont while providing wholesale gasoline and diesel fuel to gasoline station operators, wholesale fleet customers, and farm accounts.
